History of
the Parish :
Banuan Mission was the Sub-station of
Keonjhar parish till the year 2000. While it
was a Sub-station in 1998 SABS sisters came
and Resided in the village having taken a
rent house. Then, by the year 2000 their
convent was constructed and they were there
without a Priest. Rev. Fr. Jacob
Kallupurackal , then parish priest of
Keonjhar looked after the station, from
Keonjahr.
In the year 2000 Dec. 12th Banuan Mission
station got the first priest in the person
of Fr. Sangram Murmu. He begun to saw the
seeds of the Gospel in the mission. Now
there are eleven new villages . In the year
2001 parish has taken the charge of a
village school on the request of the
villages.
