  1. Deepthi Bhavan Diocesan Minor

    The Guardian Angel Diocesan Minor Seminary, that was hitherto functioning at Keonjhar since 1991, was shifted to the newly constructed Diocesan PastoralCentre-cum Minor Seminary at Kuruda. In the outskirts of Balasore town, along the National Highway No. 5 and 6 Kms from Balasore town, in 1993. The new seminary edifice was blessed opened on 28th August 1993 and was christened “Deepthi Bhavan”.

  2. Jyoti Nivas, Baripada (Estd.-1978)
    Jyoti Nivas, the Vincentian Minor Seminary was started in a rented house at Baripada in June 1978 with Fr. James Palayoor CM as its first Rector. On the following Year on 30th June 1979, though the constructions were still going on, the Seminary was shifted to its present site. On 27th September 1980, the present Jyoti Nivas Seminary was blessed opened under the patronage of St Justin De Jacobis. In 1981, Fr. Thomas Kottaram assumed charge as Rector, replacing Fr. James Palayor CM, and he was so until he died on 23rd 1982. From early January 1983, Fr. Varghese Vadaken became Rector. In 1986 Fr. Jacob Kakanatt replaced him as Rector. In 1989, Fr. Joseph PudusseryCM was installed Rector who handed over charges to Fr. Cherian Varampath CM in 1992.

    St Justin de Jaciobis Minor Seminary (Jyothi Nivas) offers a three-years course, which includes the first two stages of the priestly formation, envisaged in the Ratio Formationis  (Programme for Priestly Training) of the undivided Indian Province.The Programme of the seminary is also based on the fundamental principles laid down in the Decree on the ‘Training of Priests’ (optatam totius) of the Second Vatican Council.

    The duration of the first stage is one year. The aim of this stage is to enable the candidate towards an initial reflection on and right motivation for the Vincentain vocation. The duration of the second stage is two years. The aim of this stage is to help a candidate to have the basic knowledge about the Priestly and Vincentain Vocation and arrive at a free and responsible decision concerning it. During this stage a candidate is provided with an opportunity to pursue +2 studies.

    The whole programme covers five dimensions of the Vincentian Formation, Viz. Spiritual, intellectual, Community life, apostolic and human maturity. Accordingly, the whole programme helps the candidate : (a) to deepen the relationship with Christ the Evangeliser : (b) to widen the intellectual horizon and frontiers of knowledge; (c) to become integrated into the Community (d) to have awareness of the pastoral needs of the people and demands of missionary life and (e) to cope with the emotional demands of his age and establish amity.

  3. SABS Aspirantate, Garhdeulia (Estd. - 1986)

    With a view to train young candidates for the missions, in a mission atmosphere, the missionary minded SABS Mother Superior decided to start the Aspirantate in Orissa. Thus, in 1986, the Aspirantate for the SABS Mission candidates was started in St. Teresa’s Convent, Joda. However, due to circumstances, on the following year, in September 1987, that was shifted to Sneha Sadan Convent, Garhdeulia, where it continues uninterruptedly evere since.
